The Heights Church: An Update from Corbin Hobbs

The Heights Church: An Update from Corbin Hobbs

A few months ago, we prayed for and celebrated the launch of a new church plant in the heart of Denver called The Heights. We even sent a couple of our members to serve on the core team for this new gospel movement in the city. This month, as we focus on being “For the Kingdom” we thought it would be fun to share an update from Corbin Hobbs, one of the pastors of The Heights. We asked Corbin three questions about where they’ve been and how we can continue to partner with them. Read his answers below.

What are some big “wins” we can celebrate with you?

We place a high value on multiplication at The Heights, and I feel like our “wins” are categorized in two different forms of multiplication. First, we have multiplied into five City Groups. These are our small group Bible Studies. We now offer these on almost every night of the week for people to plug into biblical community and be intentionally discipled. Second, and more importantly, we have seen disciples multiplied. In the past couple of months we have seen two women come to saving faith in Jesus. Jackie and Prany will both be baptized in the coming month, and we are so excited to see disciples being multiplied in our ministry. Their stories of God’s work in their lives are so exciting!

What has been the biggest surprise since starting the Heights?

Our biggest surprise since starting The Heights has been the positive response we have seen to our new church here in downtown. Sure we have had some people say really negative things about us, but for the most part people have been really interested in checking out what God is doing in our midst. This fits what Jesus says in Luke 10:2 when he says “the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” We see a massive harvest on the horizon. Our biggest prayer right now is that the Lord would send laborers to labor alongside of us!

How can we pray specifically for you and your team?

Leaders: Pray that the Holy Spirit would raise up leaders within our church. We need people!

Members on Mission: Pray for the members of our church to intentionally live on mission with their neighbors, friends, and coworkers through the summer inviting them into life with Jesus.

Salvation: We want to see Prany and Jackie be the first two of a massive amount of people that place their faith in Jesus. Pray that we would see revival in the Holy Spirit happen in the coming months and years!
